Risks of cohabitation in apartment buildings of large cities of Russia, their social prerequisites and consequences are considered in the article. The analysis is based on the idea of the communal property of the material and technological environment. As a result of the analysis of secondary data and official documents, the author established a relationship between the comfort and risks of living together in an apartment building, as well as between the number of COVID-19 cases and the number of apartment buildings in the regions of Russia.
